Artist Journal- Bouroullec Brothers

I wrote an artist journal for the Bouroullec Brothers. I chose to stay away from the traditional form of a book as I felt I could make the journal an architectural piece itself. “Clouds” a piece by the sibling duo really stood out to me. I decided to use triangles as my motif as the brothers work primarily with angular lines and geometric shapes. While experimenting with origami I got the desired shape. I stuck with the blue tones of the actual piece and laid out several different templates on illustrator while experimenting with colour shades. Once that was done I pastes each diary entry (written in the point of view of Erwan, the younger brother ) into template. This made the book more interactive as it had to be opened individually, to be read. The final piece can be seen from the front and the back as the journal entries are facing both ways. The entries include non fictional professional achievments as well as fictional personal incidents.
