Response to the Form wheel

The form wheel includes the term expand-contract, flatten-perforate and divide-enclose. My piece tackles all the dichotomies to some extent. Firstly due to the tubular structure of the paper it gives the sensation of movement and fluidity. Thus seen to be expanding and contracting. The height, length and breadth of the long vertical strip of paper is being flattened or reduced. The cuts in the paper resemble holes or some sort of perforation. They also show a division of the paper thus resembling “divide” The placement of the 3 parts of the structure encloses space as well as connects to the image of the maze on the form wheel. The white surface imitates a type of relief and provides a clean surface for the vibrant colours. The reason for the choice of colours was to connect the form wheel to the colour wheel. The primary colours- blue, red and yellow are showcased and so is their gradient.
