Based on “Awake, A dream for standing rock” by Josh Fox I made a collage response to the documentary. In my piece I addressed the notion of water, myself and my culture. The importance water holds not only to myself but also my surroundings such as my family, neighbourhood and country. I used images of this natural resource to show its form and behaviour and lay a base for the collage. These images translate the topic or theme of my response. Next I selected the nature and hardships people in India need to go through in order to get drinking water or even water for washing and bathing. Lastly I included statistics of the number of people who survive on poor quality water to translate the magnanimity of the situation and scarceness of clean drinking water in my country.
