Urban Distillation / Drawing Through Making Center

I made slabs of clay with the slab roller to create the walls and base of both of my pieces. For the pyramid, I bonded the slabs by dabbing slip onto where the walls meet. I created stairs and embellishments with my fingers and using the edge of tools in the clay kit, and attached them with dabs of slip. I carved in a triangle door using a subtractive method and added dentils along the bottom.

For the hut, I united the slabs into a structure by adding pillars on the insides of the corners and using dabs of slip. Using an additive method, I created a roof. I cut out a rounded door similar to the arches I saw on our architecture walk and carved in details with a needle tool. I glazed both pieces, one with white and one with black. I struggle with the glazing process and I think it will come out better next time I try it.
