My self-portrait is made of canvas, cardboard, found material, and acrylic paint. I drew inspiration from Candyland and a lion costume I had as a toddler to create an image of myself now combined with my childhood self. I played around with different eye shapes to make it cuter. I decided on a rounder shape because softer feels cuter in my opinion. I previously had thought that cute things had to be vulnerable, so I tried to push that a little in the facial expression I chose. Below are sketches and progress shots.
