Tonal drawings/ Mark-making/ Landscape Collage

In this project, we practiced a more realistic tonal technique: Beginning with making tonal drawings of shapes, and then experimenting with “boxy”, “mapping”, and naturalistic drawings, I learned more about human proportion and how to show shadows on objects. I am not good at doing realistic drawings of still life and models(especially with shading), but I enjoyed practicing. I collected materials, including texture rubbings, mark making (some from my previous drawings) and paper pf different textures, and made a 3-dimensional landscape – just like making a collage!

I really like making collages, so I enjoyed this project very much! What I learned beyond my previous knowledge of collages was about choosing materials: I can make my own!
