This is a PROTOTYPE for my final project. The concept of this piece revolves around Walt Disney himself controlling the minds of his audience by the strings attached which is resembled by Disney’s Mickey Mouse logo. I chose Walt Disney in the form of a puppeteer with intentions of giving him all the power to “control the minds and actions of his audience”.

 

Walt Disney is decoratively framed because despite all the criticism he received for gender stereotypes, false beauty standards and the concept of a “happily ever after” future, he is still considered to be an all time legendary producers. His work is till this day is still highly praised and is recognized worldwide.

Unrealistic, unachievable and ideal representations of the female body and beauty pervade Disney princesses. Therefore, the brain consists of mini cutups of beauty products. This is to metaphorically highlight that Disney feeds young girls false beauty standards.

However, I juxtaposed the criticism of Disney by looking at the bright side of it. The background consists of a collage of educational and happy quotes mentioned by princesses and other characters in Disney. This teaches young children to have a positive mind set no matter what.

On the other hand, after receiving feedback from my classmates and peers, I have decided to change and add adjustments to improve my final project.
