Oppression is consistent throughout history and all over the world, however when dealing with sexism, misogyny and homophobia today its oppressive roots are increasingly being justified by religious theology. It is represented in the media metaphorically in entertainment such as ‘Handmaids Tale’ and more literally on news sites and social media. The church is guilty of teaching differences between humans while simultaneously preaching ultimate love and the resulting confliction causes more harm than love. We now see unprecedented physical violence growing rampant in our communities or in communities close to us
