For this project I wanted to represent New York the way I see it everyday, like a map of my life in the city. I put down all my favorite places and most used streets and worked. around that to create a cute personal map.
I used red yarn to mark my most used path.
I folded the map and made it seem used because I wanted it to look like a map someone keeps folded in their pockets and unfolds when needed, like something personal that lasts and that is always needed.
Process:
I decided to use different medias to create texture. I used acrylic paint for the background, pen and sharp for the decors and yarn for the path.
The paper I used was very thin and light to add to the used effect.
Final piece:
Overall I am happy with the result, it has that personal aspect to it that I was really going for and I find it petty clear.
