Objective:-
Building a 3D abstract form using plane materials (3 or more).
Using methods of joining planes (cut, pierce, score, notch, folding, weave, pleat, wrap, etc.)
Explore 3D texture and pattern making.
Research:-
“Accordingly, to construct a volumetric form, we can think in terms of its cross sections. In other word, how the form can be sliced up to regular intervals, which will result in serial planes. – Each serial plane can be considered as a unit form which may be used either in repetition or in gradation”. (Quoted from Goggle). For this assignment I have thought of making a cuboid as the base. I will manipulate and add designs to all the sides. I will weave, cut out, make cuts as grooves. I also plan to make some cuts and the fill it with other shapes.

Reflection:-
I felt that there was a time constrain while doing this assignment. The best about this assignment was that it was abstract. As a art student it is always fun to do something which does not have much instructions. I got the opportunity to explore and get out of the comfort zone. If there was more time I would strictly stick to the assignment rules and not have used and secondary aid to connect this cuboid. As of now I used thread and staples. Overall it was a learning experience just like any other assignment for this class.
