3D design is a much broader field than I had previously perceived it to be. It ranges from personal appearance to medical equipment and decoration.
The videos talk about three varying aspects in the subject of design. Ross Lovegrove’s talk is about sustainability in design and inspiration from nature as an attempt to embody its practicality. Paola Antonelli speaks about the different aspects of what is considered design and Alice Ramshorn spoke about how in order to come up with great designs one has to have a big dream and often be a “rebel”.
The inspiration for design can truly come from anywhere. A water droplet can inspire a car and dealing with battle wounds, a better health care system. These talks have opened my mind and introduced me to a new realm of the idea of “design”.
