The garment I chose for this assignment was a graphic crop top made by Stile Benetton.
The shirt is a millennial pink colour and uses the Times New Roman font. It is a product of mass production and fast fashion as it was made in China. The crop top, although today is considered a girly item, is worn by football players to show off their bodies. The cropped style was not accepted in America until WWII as it was considered scandalous to show skin. The crop top trend was adopted from the east when there was shortage of supplies and rationing of fabric.
It was interesting to see the amount of information that could be extracted from an item of clothing that seems so simple at first glance.
