Process Documentation Bridge 2 February 2019

This is the primary image and initial inspiration photograph. The original location is a bus stop in Greenwich Village. There is no market sector or target audience for this image because it is just a photograph of a perfume bottle. You could argue that the target audience is a female but that is as large as a demographic that is given.

This advertisement is a blank canvas and doesn’t correlate to the product description by any means. It has very little color and no aesthetic. It has one large sphere form which is the center of attention. There is not a high contrast or anything visually enticing about this ad. The Chanel website notes this fragrance as something dreamy, radiant, and uber feminine. Yet, this advertisement plasters the name brand, is blank, has no color, no figure, and they aren’t marketing a scent; they are marketing Chanel. The fact that “Chanel” is repetitive you will remember this ad because you feel like your reading it over and over again. My new advertisements actually target a demographic and make it more clear. They make fun of the fact “Chanel” is plastered all over them but they have captivating visuals that will make you remember the advertisements. For re-designing these advertisements the platforms are visual prints. That may be in a magazine or printed and put on a poster or on a bus stop. All of my re-designs include Chanel’s fashion advertisements in them because it creates the illusion that the fragrance carries the same “classic” idea as the Chanel fashion house.

Re-design #1

Location/Platform: printed advertisement in a magazine

Target Audience: Women who read fashion magazines and who appreciate what is on trend. Maybe age group 20-30’s.

Re-design #2

Location/Platform: I would put this re-design in the bus stop casing because there is an aesthetic and color scheme do it. It isn’t too bold or attention seeking but it feels timeless and very “Chanel”. It would be a digital print sized to fit the box in the bus stop

Target audience: Young, playful, fun group of women.

Re-design #3

Location/Platform: this re-design would appear as an advertisement for the fragrance in a magazine

Target Audience: More mature group of women who enjoy the essence of Chanel.
