Throughout this term, I worked on a project based on a selected tribe. I chose the festival tribe. Within the festival experience, one is prone to lose their belongings. As a result, I tried to solve this issue. I designed two bags that incorporate the element of visual deception. What appears to be the main ‘opening/closure’ is actually non-functional. This tricks the eye of others and potential theft. The true openings are in the back of the bags, which are held tight against your body.
Each bag comes with adjustable and convertible straps. The straps can be worn as a belt separately or as a bag strap. It can be worn across the waist, over the chest, as a harness, etc. The buckles and belt holes (eyelets) were strategically placed to create this convertible element.
Even though this bag was based for the festival go-er, it can be used by anyone. It can be used for traveling in busy, crowded venues (e.g. Times Square).
These bags will be sourced and manufactured in the USA. As my target audience is based in the states, I would like the production to be held locally to create transparency.
