The assignment for this project was to create a “toy”. Furthermore, a toy that can engage the audience and reveal something, in order words create an experience. I decided to expand on the paper model I made as a draft. I wanted use metal sheets to give a more industrial aesthetic. The only rule for this project was to use more than one material for the planes. I decided to use plexi glass to show the interior of the model and metal sheets. I used rivets in order to assemble the individual triangles together. I did this by drilling a hole and then cutting out small rectangular metal pieces to join the triangles together. Then, I used the rivet gun to punch the rivet on the surface of the triangle and the rectangular metal on the back together. I also used an awl to create texture for some of the triangular pieces. Additionally, I used a hinge so that it can open and close.
