underwater internet / under sea network

I think as a generation of wire-free digital hardware, we don’t really think of how we are connected to the internet or that internet that make the world smaller and connected is actually connecting the country via a cable under the water. I just feel like under the water is such an unpredictable place to put something we so much depend on. As in we, not just ordinary people like student and professor but as a big corporation who handles a many personal information or country for use the internet to communicate their secretive information. however, I am not as clever as people who came up with the internet and I am sure that they thought that was the best idea to do at that time. But now as we face many changes in the world including the environment od sea, we as a designer and as a user of the internet might need to rethink the way we treat this cable or way we treat our information.
