For the logo that I designed for my monument, I did an abstract representation of the monument itself. I really liked the roundness of the current monument with the benches surrounding the Columbus statue. The center of the circle represents where a statue of Christopher Columbus would be. The other three squares represent the three main indigenous people groups that were the first to encounter Columbus when he “discovered” the new land. And the benches connect the three groups and surround Columbus.
