My first idea for a souvenir was a set of three toy boats for children that are modeled after Columbus’ three ships. The ships could be used in sand or water or just with imagination. They will be made out of recycled plastic with recycled packaging.
My second souvenir is a set of toy figurines that go with the boats. The figurines would include a couple of indigenous people as well as Columbus and a couple of his men. Kids will be able to act out how Columbus should have “discovered” the new land. It is important that parents and schools are teaching kids what really happened when Columbus sailed to the new land and took advantage of the land and everyone in it.
