I am proposing a non-exclusive social house to the Yorkville community. I believe that a new social hang out spot would be beneficial to the sidewalk culture. The building would be tall and sleek but not a high rise that would overpower the local shops. The point is not to outshine and overshadow the local mom and pop shops but to attract people to them to enhance their businesses.
Each floor would have a different “attraction.” Things such as a gallery and a library lounge. The other floors would be spaces that could be rented out for events and parties etc. A couple times a year there would be a “swap meet” or “fair” of some sort that would give local artists and business an opportunity to come together. The social house would be a good opportunity for businesses and locals to come together and make meaningful connections.
