Statement
In this project I choose to connect with the seminar2’s research essay, The topic is How do the Architecture and Community Affect People’s Behavior during the essay I was mainly discussing how is architecture formed different communities and changes people’s lifestyle. For this studio project, I decided to create an image that creates a comparison between the urban city and suburban areas. In the urban part has the 70% of the page, and the suburban area only contains 30% of the page, which represent most of us cares more about the city development instead of the environmental issue. And the reason I only tried one house and the suburban area it’s because I want to show the contrast between the populations in each area. The lights strip in the sky are representing the past of time. How we change our lifestyles overtimes.
Inspiration
This form of drawing I was got the inspirations from one of my assignments from the Drawing & Imaging classes I had during the spring semester. The idea of using a strong contrast between black and white got me interested.
Thesis
How do the Architecture and Community Affect People’s Behavior
My research paper was based on my personal experiences of growing up from those different architectural environments, searching why I have certain emotions when I connecting with different buildings. The division of 70% urban area and the 30% suburban area was trying to represent the extreme example of different living environments.
This post is representing the relationship between the human and housing.
