Time: Collaborative Performance

For my Time class I was partnered up with Helen to create a performance that reflects time in a way.

We started brainstorming a couple of ideas straight away, first deciding if we should split up the class into groups and show one group the impression of time moving slowly and the other time moving fast. We decided that splitting up the class would be too complicated, so we scratched that idea and decided we would do a performance that is interactive.

We choose to use the idea of senses into it, using blind folds to block a sense but we would be reading a poem to interact with another sense. So with that we decided to get large pieces of paper (Which Helen nicely got from the plotter) and markers. We would make everyone draw while being “blind” and hearing a poem read about time.

I think this over-all performance reflects on time as being connected to senses. Is not seeing anything make time slower? Does hearing people read make time faster, since it as a certain pace. And does the act of trying to be creative (drawing) help you focus on time?
