[Bridge 1] Getting to Review Peer’s writing

As I had used Korean instead of English for my whole life, using and writing in English is still so difficult for me although I am trying extremely hard. To write an essay (or any kind of writing), I have to go through many different steps which includes brainstorming in Korean, changing the ideas into English and searching for the English word that best shows the nuance that I intended. Among all the processes, there is one step that I find extremely helpful – reading others’ writings that shares the same topic and structure with mine. I learn from those writings how to make more beautiful description and to convey the message more effectively. Reading the piece and editing what Laine wrote was definitely helpful for me in that way. Her description of each situation were clearly way more delicate than mine and her sentences were much shorter but clearer.

Although I learned a lot and got a huge help from her, I actually feel sorry that I couldn’t be any big help for as much. I couldn’t find any grammatical error (or maybe there might have been none), nor could I change her sentences in more attractive way.
