Visual Vocabulary Learning Portfolio Reflection Post

Documentation of your process, some written reflection, and the outcomes.

– What are the salient things you learned through doing this project?

I learned a lot through doing this project, but it took a while for me to realize this. At the start of our visual vocabulary journey, I didn’t realize how connected each visual vocabulary term was to each other. However, the visual vocabulary concept mapping allowed for me to see this. This then led me to come up with my final concept for the art piece, consciously combining all my art principles into one piece. Overall, the most important lesson that I took from this project is that all art has design principles that can be worked on or changed, as long as the artist has self-awareness.

– Consider the feedback of your peers. Do you agree? Disagree? How will it inform your future?

I agree with the feedback from my peers but I also feel that this project was meant to satisfy me, not other people. Overall, I would not change anything. Perhaps, I would’ve put more effort into the individual attendance assignments.
