- I remember my Mom crying. I don’t know why- I was eating Starburst’s in the back seat of her Ford.
- I remember standing on the playground of my Pre-School, Oakwood, and being able to smell the garlic and yeast of my Dad’s bakery.
- I remember coming home to mounds of things at the end of my bed my Mom had collected from my disaster of a room- this happened often.
- I remember my Mom and sisters leaving for Washington D.C for my Uncle’s promotion and how it was my 5th I was so mad, I never let them forget it.
- I remember listening to that one song with that drum solo by Phil Collins.
- I remember getting so mad at my cousins and aunts for calling me “Phia”.
- I remember having a crush on a boy named Gabe, he would write me notes but I would throw them away. I wish I would’ve read them.
- I remember my music teacher telling me I would never work in fashion just because I liked “Project Runway”. If only she saw me now.
