This is a linear material mobile.
In the beginning, I drew blind line contour of faces of my classmates. They also drew my face. And then I made 2D wire sculpture based on the drawings of my classmates, Emily and Saskia.
And I made a 3D sculpture of my head. At that time, I didn’t know it is going to be a mobile, so I made the support sticks at the bottom.
I combined the 2D sculptures and the 3D sculpture.
I eliminate the support sticks to decrease the weight of the 3D sculpture. The sticks were not needed for the mobile as well.
Details of the mobile.
I photographed it with a smartphone torch with the classroom lights turned off and shades pulled down for the shadow effects.
These are a suspension structure and two armatures. I made these with a drill and a vise to be stronger.
I made my signature with the wire.
