Bridge 3 – Avatar Risograph Poster Design Group Project – Competition

For this project, we design the poster for Tomkins Square Park Dog Parade at East Village. When we felt after the visit parade, the owner having fun more than dogs from the community. We felt sorry for the dogs. Therefore, this poster designed by the concept that dog has to get freedom about their body from the owner during the parade. Becasue it connects to the fashion of costume we pick the genre art. We had some research about Erte’s art deco style. I can see the focus on the style like garment and accessories. Likewise, I decide more on the garments what dogs wear on the poster. My design method was drawing. I pick the drawing method because it has lots of potentials to create a new design.

We decide the font Betty Noir like early of 20’s century people used for the poster.

I used lots of illustrator method and drawing on the computer. Because our printing method was risograph, I try to create each layer with different color and form to show a variety of shape and color when I print it.

The most successful about this project is learning how to create the layer by layer risograph print and learning how to illustrator to create and draw the image. The challenge I had was time-consuming that I have to plan out to using the printer and using the risograph printer because it took lots of time to get a perfect print out. Then every time when I print the risograph the print keep coming with color mark. However, it was a meaningful time to learn about and creating the poster fit into the genre and creating a concept about what we own.
