On Gallery

IMG_7211I like this photograph from the gallery because it is a portrait of a man doing something that is ordinary in life. He is holding his paintbrush in his mouth and taking a selfie with it on an iPhone. It is pleasing to the eye as it seems like a normal selfie that we would see on social media except when depicted in a gallery it is regarded as art. IMG_7230I really like this photograph at the last gallery we visited because it is such a normal photo. The setting of this photograph was at a studio and the photographer just placed bulb lights to brighten up the atomosphere. IMG_7233I like this photo because it represents the rule of thirds (literally) as the original photo was split into three photos. It is conceptually very interesting as the photographer had distinctly placed people into the three different frames according to their depth of field. The man in the middle is the most important figure in this photo, which is why the photographer placed him in the middle. This is a clever way of portraying the layers of importance in a photograph with depth of field.
