It was really interesting to know more about Tom Dixon’s approach to design. I believe that his project with Ikea is considering what, I’m my opinion, should already be taken into consideration big brands, the durability, and resiliency of the materials. I think bringing this kind of thoughts to such a big industry like Ikea, known for mass production, could have good impacts, even if it just by making people more conscious about these environmental issues. I really identified with Tom because of his proximity to welding and metalwork. I definitely aspire towards similar design practices for my final project.
