The phobia I selected was acrophobia – the fear of heights.
My plan was to create a floor tile that gives the illusion of height and instability.
I used a large cardboard box, tracing paper, and water color paint to create this project. I felt that I should focus on the experience of the interactivity factor of the work. The tracing paper gave a unstable and fragile touch to the cardboard structure elevated at the white square, where the audience would be able to stand and look down to gain a sense of height.
The platform got good feedback, though the work missed the whole illusion of height idea.
