This is the image in which I have chosen, it is a meme of Donald Trump in the character of a Pepe frog standing in front of a speech stand, with one hand on the stand and the other hand touching its chin. A close up of the American flag is in the background behind Trump the Pepe frog. The image conveys overtly that Donald Trump has became the president of the United States, as in front of the speech stand, the seal clearly labels “Seal of the Present of the United States”. The image could also be interpreted as Trump making a speech after he has been elected as the American president, and that he is thinking or making a face whilst he was delivering his speech. However this meme is made up and is unrelated to any factual evidence as the election results had not been released when this meme was created, therefore Trump may or may not have became the president of the United States. The meme has had influence from Trump’s campaign, in that he had win the trust of many people, therefore the maker of the meme had made the meme knowing that many people will elect Trump for president. I chose this example because throughout my daily interactions with the social media and technological devices, Pepe the frog is constantly seen for example by being used as an emoticon during text message conversations, or being used as a comical image on certain websites such as 9gag. Therefore I thought it was interesting how Pepe frog was also used as a meme during the election process, to express that Trump is being elected as the president of the United States.
