Through the entire process from a 2d design to a 3d models, I learned a lot. Every step is closely related to each other. Each of assignments somehow make up for the last ones like exchanging for the positive and negative space, deleting the inner lines or refill the shapes.
For me, 3d models are more challenging but also more interesting. For the Bristol model, I try yo mimic the exact extruded drawing, but when it comes to plaster model, I feel like it is not really possible for me to make one with different depth. Therefore, I change the negative and positive space. I thought it could be easier to build, but it is still so hard to take the foam board mold out of the plaster. The final assignment is my favorite one for the whole project, I like to put different colors into the model. Because we are told only use mechanic connection, the exploration of different materials and doing the test are pretty interesting, and I really learn new way of making art through this.
