Practicing Visual Research – Part I of Bridge 4

In this project, I choose the stereotype in education. Parents and teachers think only students with good grades can have a better future. Grades, specifically academic grades become the only criterion to judge a student. During my middle school, every day is about how to improve academic grades as the purpose. One thing that will not happen in America is putting everyone students’ grades in public. This really hurts students’ confidence. When you got I low a grade,  teachers and parents will think that you didn’t study hard for this test. But you actually did study hard. I have watched a TED Talk video, which talks about school kills creativity. He points out that academic subjects have a higher status than other subjects in school. This is the meme I created. The person in my meme is Jack Ma who is the founder of Alibaba. When he was a student in high school, he wasn’t good at math. But he is one of the richest people in the world, and what he invented in technology bought a new and convenient lifestyle to China.

There are other memes I researched.
