Making a zine was a new challenge for me. I was always used to formal books or regular type of magazines. But the concept of a zine is different than writing a book or making a magazine. A zine is about yourself, done it by yourself. At first, I was struggling with the concept of my zine. I wanted to do about how politic limits art and design. But then I realized it was too broad to get it done in a few pages. So I went deeper and try to get a more specific concept. And that’s when I thought about doing social conventionalism. We are always limit by rules and we have so many guidelines to know how to act or get dress, and even more how see and analyze things between right or wrong. But the more I got deeper into it, I found that there are no universal rules, no guidelines that are objectively made in order to be taken by everyone in the world. It all depends on our culture, our beliefs, and personal values. These three aspects shape the way we see and analyze things, whether we accept something or not. But what if you don’t follow those rules? What if you are different from your culture? What if you don’t follow other’s guidelines but yours?

And that’s the reason of making my zine. Trying to graphic conventionalism that we were born with, even simple things like the color pink for women and blue for men. So, at the end, I really enjoy doing this zine, especially because the concept has to do with my idiosyncrasy. Even though I’m not the kind of person that you see and you know that think all these things but, appearance is just the cover of how really someone is.
