In terms of form and concept, I would say my monoprints focus more on the abstracts forms. Although, in some of them the use of organic shapes helped to create a contrast and also a balance between the shapes. The sense of contrast is not only noticeable on the different type of shapes but also between the background and the elements that are used in the composition. The way positive and negative space acts on the composition contributes to the main point of them, abstract forms. It helps the viewer focus on the main objects. Besides, the background and the shapes compliment one another by the contrast they create together which makes the composition flow in a natural way, individual and as a group. One of the strengths of focusing on one subject (in this case abstract shapes) is that it helps to create a narrative when putting them together. In some of them is clearly the progression but in others, the use of the same shapes helps to make a connection between them. Also, the use of layers is essential for the progression. Using the same composition but adding more things in order to have a unique piece.
