Bridge 1

For this project, I went to MoMA and inspired by an untitled artwork, which was made by Erik van Lieshout in 2014. This art work uses Conte crayon, synthetic polymer paint, felt-tip pen, and vinyl on paper.

Then, I created a mixed media collage using combined handmade and photoshop elements and it is inspired by my memoir.

This art work comes from one of my impressive memory. In the thanksgiving break, I went to San Francisco to find my friends. Then we decided to go ski. On the way to the Truckee, our car got stuck in the snow because of the snow storm. My friends tried to use many way to move the car, but failed. Finally, we called a trailer and got out from the snow. It is an interesting and thrilling memory. So first, I use photoshop to combined three pictures which I already took when my friends were shoveling snow. Then I printed it out and use charcoal to draw the other environment. After this, I want to make the background (except the interior view of car) darker, but for me the charcoal is hard to achieve that effect. So I took a picture of that step and use photoshop again to make the background darker. I want to make people engage with my situation. So I use mylar paper on the rearview mirror of the car.

In the car, it was warm and light, but outside it was dark and cold. The artwork in MoMA is also combined the picture and drawing. I think it is a very interesting way to combine the realistic and abstract.
