Chromasound – Project Progress Grace + Sjournee

For our project Chromasound, Grace and I have made immense progress. Below is our project progress as of December 2, 2018.

For our sound bites, we used a decibel apps in a sound room at the Arnold Hall 13th Street Building and got the hertz levels within the sound.

Here are some of the sound bites –

We are using the following apps –

Both apps assist with meters and hertz frequencies. Just some aspects of the tuner app were more precise depending on the volume of the sounds that we recorded, which allowed us to get an accurate frequency level.

For the Unity design, Grace and I made a LOT of progress and we discovered that we can actually use our initial design which is amazing! So we re-did the design for the third time… and achieved the image below.

Discovering that we could use our original design again was very exciting, as it relates to sound vibrations (which inspired the original design) and utilizes curves which is more inviting than the blunt design of squares.

Reflection

I am happy with my progress so far, and hope that I can execute the design in a way I am proud of. I am also thankful for Grace who has been my partner in my other class where we are also focusing on expanding this project and that has been a great process. I am just very enthusiastic about the end product!
