For my exhibition space I decided to make a plant shop. I had a lot of fun with this assignment, especially choosing to draw every item in the room. I wanted the piece to feel hand drawn, but at the same time look digital. Scanning sharpie drawings into photoshop has this effect. A plant shop is usually a simple and plain shop and I wanted this piece to reflect the same feelings. I enjoyed making each drawing alone then bringing them all together on the computer. After isolating each item in this piece on its own blank piece of paper, it is very exciting to see them all come together and interact with each other on the computer. I had never really drawn plants like this before. I enjoyed drawing these plants because I love taking objects that are so three-dimensional and flattening them to a simple two-dimensional outline. I wanted my piece to have a slight sense of humor; I think the posters help with that. This project was overall a good learning opportunity, teaching me how to successfully recreate a real life space with my hands.
