History:
- 235 Bowery opened in 1876 on Thanksgiving as The London Theatre
- In 1909 it was transformed to a Yiddish theater called the Lipzen Theatre
- In 1913 the theater was known as the Variety Theatre, vaudeville and movies were shown
- 1916 – Italian Playhouse
- 1924 – Caruso Theatre
- 1926 – Chinese Theater
- 1930 – 235 Bowery was purchased, ended the tradition of theater in that building.
- 2006 – New Museum was opened and is still there
