Project Overview:
Initially I worked to create a zine, but ended up displaying this piece in-class as multiple 11×17 horizontal printouts in the order below. I used this assignment as a way to visualize the system of “a semester at Parsons versus the experiences within my personal life“. This system was truly a way for me to map out my personal experiences both within and outside of school, which is why I used images from both assignments and those from personal moments outside of campus.
The sharp irregular objects were meant to unify the separate pages, I believe they would have had a different effect on viewers had this been folded pages like I had originally planned. I wanted to create a consistent theme throughout the zine since the images varied in size and repetition.
The images throughout work to reflect each other, specifically the 3rd page where I used images from my homework and life to mirror one another.
