Universal Design Methods
- From the book I selected two different methods to map out my process, I created both a concept map with additional synthesis in addition to a persona — my project has gone through a series of iteration and this is what made the most sense to map out my process
Concept Map
- For the concept map I identified which areas of the my design would be best expressed to my audience — this led me to discover additional questions and area of focus that I would like to work in
Persona 1 of 3
- The persona I used is to support my presentation in the future and to ground my research as I need to reflect back to how I’ve arrived at conclusions
- I’ve scheduled an additional call to focus on another two personas (the parent & the child) who will be interacting with the designs that I create
Production Calendar
Best Practices For Work:
- Outline what specifically needs to be done on a weekly basis (projections in thesis tend to be more confusing for me than helpful
- Communication earlier versus later in the form of feedback from peers
Week II (Mon & Wed Class)
- Determine research strategies to help refine process and the new idea I’m focused on creating
- Begin user research in the form of contextual inquiries in user interviews
- Create moodboard that will support the process of look and feel research
Weekend for Week II
- Research and purchase materials that will be helpful with creating the prototype
- If possible book appointment at the lasercutting lab to reduce time spent creating prototype in week III
- Create presentation for Week 3 that covers the work done through Thesis I

Week III Mon & Wed Class
- Review in class I’m finding the specific notes confusing on the syllabus around what is specifically due
