This project took a lot of time. About 600 shots and 18 hours of photoshopping away any imperfections in each one of them. Again, I did not have a plan or a story in the beginning. I just had this idea of me slicing a piece of my skin and that was it.

“Everything you need, you already have.” – Wayne Oates

This piece resonates with me strongly as I’ve come to believe only YOU can supply yourself with the resources you need to get by in life. Choosing photography as my intended profession was not an easy choice to make but I believe it WILL be my bread and butter someday and that going to Parsons is my first step in that direction.

So here I show you my bread and my butter which I have provided for myself. This piece also touches on my struggles with body image and the overall theme of mental health regarding self image.

I have intentionally chose not to include any text, I wanted the viewer to give this pice their own meaning due to the fact that I think this piece is ambiguous.
