COLOR PRACTICE VIDEO:
For the practise colour video, I have chosen to do colour red. One of the main reasons is that I see that colour pretty often around New York. I have tried to capture little details, small objects that were red. I did not want to film red cars as it would be too easy/obvious. I filmed flags, red shoes, a kid wearing a jacket etc.

Initially, I wanted my video to be a time frame of a person experiencing LSD for the first time. I have had ideas and visuals in my head, but I realised I was not skilled enough to create those effects in the soft ware yet. Also I felt like I was trying to do too much; I felt like I was making it too complicated, simply because I did not want it to be boring and tiring to watch.
I did not have a script and the deadline was approaching. I have decided to come up with the idea after I done my chore for the day- laundry. While I was collecting and putting my clothes in a bag, I started thinking how can I transform this weekly experience into something artistic and aesthetically pleasing to look at.
When I started thinking about the components of any successful video, I selected 2 main things that I wanted to be perfect in the final video: sound and colour. When it came to sound, I wanted it to be natural. I felt like music would take away from authenticity of the experience, it would distracts from the environment I was trying to portray. When it came to colour, I wanted it to have two main colours:red and blue. I felt like they would pop more and make the visionary more vibrant. I also made sure Musa (person in a video) was wearing something colourful.
When I was set on the idea, I started to think about angles and the way I want to film it. I have decided that still shots which were observing the surrounds would be most successful. I did not want to intrude the experience, I wanted it to be as laid back as possible.
THINGS I WOULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY:
- Tripod
It would make the video look more professional. The quality would improve
- Mic
In some shots the sound seems closer and louder than in others. Having a mic would make the sound be consistent.
