Guadalupe Maravilla had a fascinating life experience. He crossed the US/Mexico border as a child and talked about his immigration. He also talked about how this experience affects his mental health and lead to cancer which he recently overcame.
Describe how hearing about the artist’s life experience, or perspective on the world, informed your understanding of their creative work?
He talked about all the change he went through in his life like his immigration and name change and you can see how change and transformation plays a great role in his work. He also has a lot of meditative and therapeutic qualities to his work that is added to help people like himself with mental health issues.
