Gender and Conformity in Public Places
As we can observe, the behaviour of individuals in their environment, in this case, in the metro, varies depending on their age, but especially whether they are a man or a woman. Is this behaviour influenced by gender roles? By how society has taught us to behave as men or women? Women are expected to cross their legs and stand upright as ‘ladies’, whereas men have none of these impositions. What does this behaviour tells us about our society?
