Writing prompt #3

Emma Gonzalez speech: March for Our Lives:

I first came across Emma Gonzalez speech on social media. I remember watching it for the first time and feeling so angry. It was extremely painful for me to watch because I grew up in Florida. Now, watching it six months later is frustrating because not much has changed. I felt angry watching Emma Gonzalez publicly mourns her dead classmates as she demands change. “We are going to be the last mass shooting,” she told the crowd. “We are going to change the law. That’s going to be Marjory Stoneman Douglas in that textbook, and it’s all going to be due to the tireless efforts of the school board, the faculty members, the family members and most importantly the students.” said a weeping González. As she wiped away her tears, for the first time in a long time, I saw hope.
