I got inspiration from plastic and transparent art projects.
Final designs
I started my project by drawing sketches without theme. Then I saw a picture of plastic art.
It mentioned me about my another project about plastic pollution. I was interested in this material, so I went to search some plastic art and raincoat. I think I like the solid structure of raincoats and the effect of see-through material. I tried to combine them in my sketches and did some experiment with fabric.
At first, I created a collection of pure white fabric, since I thought white color matches the clear fabric well. During the research, I found some vintage pictures about raincoat which has colors and a picture of rose wrapped with plastic. I tried another collection with colors —red and black. Personally I preferred the second one, because it looks more powerful and impressive. It’s my first time to create a collection of design. I tried to keep the sequence and the theme clear. The fabric swatches are not richly colored, but I did some manipulation to them that they don’t look simple.
