I wanted to resemble my daily habits and the comfort I have when I go back home. I got my inspirations from the home slippers that I wear and, using the same shape, I recreated this object with recycled materials that are usually considered waste.
I traced the shape of my feet and I created the base of the slipper with cardboard of a shipping box that I received. I chose to cover both the top and the bottom of the sole with black velvet as I think it is a synonym of comfort. Moreover, I made the top shape of the slipper with cut and melted plastic from a water bottle to shape it in a semicircular form that will be appropriate to fit the feet. As a decoration, I chose to place the etiquette of the brand of the water bottle so it could become an advertisement or a statement piece. On the sole, I chose to stuck the inside of a paper bag that was delivered to me; having bubble wrap on it, the shoes could become more comfortable to be used outside on the street, while, if a piece of velcro is applied, the use of the slipper could change depending on whether a person is inside or outside, making it adaptable in various occasions.
