The basis of this project was inspired by nightlife, as well as ancient architecture and culture. (Sumerian and Greek)
The bowl was coated with reflective stickers and then filled with transparent acrylic crystals and gems. The bowl was placed within a semi transparent acrylic plate. This design was inspired by interest in the occult and magick.
The Arduino was concealed in a small sculpture made of wood. The design of the wooden object was inspired by the story of the Trojan Horse.
I intended this project to be a work in progress and something that I can expand upon throughout my life. The incorporation of technology was minimal, just using servos and a laser. I did not want to make something that was overwhelming or something that was distracting because of the technology behind it. I ideally see this within a small space, as a piece that would allow human interaction.
I first tried to incorporate midi control, however the controller was not able to connect the music software I use.
I see this project growing and evolving, it is something that I am interested in making much larger.
