MJ is an artist who pays attention to intricate detail and uses his skill to perfect the piece. His Artist book was made out of recycled paper and sharpie alongside etched designs replicating a sword from Asian descent. He labeled the book using Asian characters, to reflect back on the culture.
Personally, the book felt like an old artifact ranging back to that time and the precision on the sword designs were very clean cut and looked as if you could pull them out of the paper and use them. I loved the idea of mixing different mediums into one book so that really moved me. It didn’t resemble a “book” in any way which was really interesting to see and have it play out in the way that you read it like a book but it is not constructed as one. Well done MJ.
