Stereotype Project

Oftentimes in life, people would be affected by stereotypes, whether stereotypes they have toward others or others have toward them. Some of the stereotypes are nonessential and harmful to people, but they are still commonly mentioned in our daily life. For this assignment, we are using ourselves as an examples as the victims of stereotype. To convince our community that wrongful judgements based on stereotypes bring no benefits at all.

Turning a stereotype upside down:

People with tattoos are not dangerous drug addicts.

Group members took pictures of their own tattoos, followed with a statement explaining the intend for getting the tattoo. The statement given by each group member proven to be a positive reason based on daily life. It’s going against people’s stereotype of thinking people with tattoo are not friendly or even dangerous.
